2017 Bulls E-Stream EVO 2 27.5 Carbon Review

The 2017 Bulls electric bikes are arriving! I’ve loved this company since I first rode their bikes last year, and I couldn’t wait to see what 2017 had in store. Bulls upgraded 2017 models have some significant improvements over last year. In this post, we’ll take a look at the 2017 Bulls E-Stream EVO 2 27.5 Carbon. This lightweight electric mountain bike is great. Here is our 2017 Bulls E-Stream EVO 2 27.5 Carbon review.

I’ve talked about my love of hardtail bikes in a previous post, and this bike definitely tops the list in terms of hardtail bikes. Carbon frames are a relatively new phenomenon in the electric bike world, and Bulls is offering a pretty reasonably priced option with the 2017 Bulls E-Stream EVO 2 27.5 Carbon.

Bulls definitely has not skimped on the components. The front fork is a Suntour XCM-32 RL Coil 27.5 with 120mm of suspension. This is plenty for commuting, trail riding, and moderate single track mountain biking. The Tektro hydraulic disc brakes provide solid stopping power, and they function smoothly. The Schwalbe Nobby Nic tires grip nicely to any surface, and the tread suits trails and roads alike. The Shimano Deore XT shifting system provides 10-speeds, and it works really well with the Brose motor.

Speaking of Brose, I think this motor works incredibly well with this bike. I am becoming a huge fan of Brose motors. They are quiet, powerful, and have a huge battery life. Coming in at 650 watt hours, this battery will take you incredibly far. For those looking to take longer rides, Brose is the clear leader. They also are incredibly powerful, and with 90 newton meters of torque, these will get you up any steep hill. The motors are quiet, and they are efficient. I also love the way they integrate the battery into the frame. You can’t even tell it’s there at first glance, and the motor itself is also very small.

The geometry of the bike feels great when you’re hopping on, and the ride is nice and smooth. I tested the bike out on a bike trail and some single track trails, and it performed well. The cockpit is easy to access, and the battery life seemed to meet expectations.
