We’ll begin with an orientation in the park, and when everyone is comfortable we’ll head through the Birdrock neighborhood of La Jolla. The La Jolla Bike Path will take us north, with gorgeous views of the ocean as we roll along. The climb up Mt. Soledad will be the most fun you’ve ever had riding up a mountain, as the other cyclists and drivers watch in disbelief as we cruise up with little effort. At the top we’ll explore the memorial and take in the 360 degree views from San Diego’s highest coastal point. The exhilarating ride down the mountain will take us through little known and beautiful neighborhoods, perched on the mountainside. As we head back to the coast we’ll stop to check out the playful sea lions, dramatic sea caves, harbor seals, and tide pools. Follow your guide through La Jolla’s exclusive and luxurious neighborhoods to get the inside scoop. We’ll follow the coast down to WindanSea Beach, famous from early Beach Boys videos, where San Diego’s most elite surfers come to play.

“My wife and picked the socal riviera tour at midday 9th oct, my wife who cycles once a year at most was a bit uneasy before tour, but after a quick lesson and and once we got moving she was fine. The bikes were comfortable and easy to use, with a small bit of effort needed. Our tour took approx 2hours 30 mins, there was so much to see and our tour guide Alex was great with so much info about all areas we visited.loads to see, though the coastal areas and views from mount soledad were the highlight.if you are in this area, I cant recommend this highly enough.as well as alex our guide, a thanks to ike at shop, both so helpful with info about reasturants and other things to see and do locally.”

Excellent Tour!

“San Diego Fly Rides was simply an outstanding tour. We did the Riviera tour which was a great mix of scenic coastline and winding hillside, with both street riding and off-road riding. The Californians seemed like they were used to sharing the road with bikers, so we never felt unsafe. The bikes themselves were really cool. They had different levels of power assist as well as a throttle you could use, making it as easy to ride as you wanted it to be. My 75 year young mom was understandably nervous about the tour, but they took extra care in making her comfortable at all times. Our guide Greg was really great. He had a lot of interesting info about the area and made the trip really fun. Fly Rides is a friendly and professional tour company and the perfect way to see La Jolla. Thanks guys for an awesome afternoon!”

a must do!”

“First time on an electric bike; very cool. kind of like being on a tandem with someone behind you really pedaling hard for you. Ahh that invisible helper. Had a tour of La Jolla’s most interesting sites including famous folks homes, interesting plant life, monuments, restaurants and spectacular overlooks. Ike was our guide. Did a great job of orienting us to the equipment before heading out with complimentary snack food and cold bottled water. Lot’s of time see and ask. I think this is a great way to get a feel for the area and you can exert yourself as little or as much as you like. Ike and his fellow tour guides are very knowledgeable of the area and it’s history. Don’t miss it!”

Q: What is an electric bike?

A: An electric bike is simply a bicycle equipped with a small and quiet electric motor.
Electric bikes require no fossil fuels and therefore are extremely Quiet, Clean, and Green!
Instead of a gas motor, electric bikes use a battery to supply power to the motor.

Q: Who rides electric bikes?

A: In our experience there’s a huge variety of people who love riding electric bikes.
They are for everyone who feels comfortable riding a traditional bicycle, and our most frequent customers are:
• House boat or yacht owners
• RV travelers
• High school and college kids
• Those without a driver’s license
• Urban dwellers who don’t want to find and pay for parking
Some ways our happy customers use their electric bikes:
• Commuting to work
• Running errands close to home
• Joy riding
• Exercise

Q: How far will an electric bike go?

A: It depends on how much you’re using the power! This is affected by a lot of factors including rider weight, rider input, terrain, size of the motor, and number of amp hours in the battery. Most E-bikes have a range of 15- 25 miles, but some of our more powerful E-bikes can offer 30+ miles.
Now that’s Power & Freedom!

Q: Will I have to pedal?

A: Not all electric bikes utilize the same technology, but most employ the two types of motor assist.
• Pedal Assist: Pedal Assist Mode is a great option for those looking to treat their electric bike as a traditional bike with a little help from the motor. In this mode the motor will only kick in when the rider is pedaling. Some of our E-bikes we carry will allow the rider to select different levels of assist to allow for more or less help from the motor.
• Throttle & Go: If the bike comes equipped with this mode it is not necessary for the rider to pedal. Just twist and go! We love this mode when riding in town.
The more you pedal the further you can go on a charge.
It is also worth noting that our electric bikes have gears and are meant to be great for riding without the help of the motor, as there is no drag.

Q: Why would I want to ride an electric bike?

A: Most importantly because they’re fun! Whether you have an injury, a long commute, or you just want to save your energy for the rest of your day, an electric bike is a great way to get where you’re going without getting sweaty.
If you just feel a need for speed, you’ll be amazed at how far and how fast you can travel with a motor on board!

Q: Is there an age limit?

A: Yes, In the state of California, riders must be 16 or older.

Q: Is there a weight limit?

A: Yes, riders must not exceed to 240 lbs. if using our electric beach cruisers and 260 lbs. if using our Stromer E-bikes.

“This is a great way to see lovely La Jolla! My previous outing with San Diego Fly Rides was with Ike who took my husband and me all around Balboa Park. The experience was great! Ike was quite knowledgeable about the Park and made the adventure lot’s of fun. This visit to San Diego was with two dear friends from high school (that was a long time ago!) Alex (a former kids ski instructor) was our guide. He was very patient and made sure that we were comfortable throughout the entire trip. Hands down we all rated this our favorite activity during our week long vacation”

“My parents and I signed up for the Balboa Park tour and had a wonderful time. Alex, our guide, was patient and friendly, and made sure everyone was comfortable on the bikes. This was important because my parents were a little nervous about the electric bikes, but they ended the tour loving them. The tour was interesting and relaxing. A perfect introduction to the park and San Diego history. Afterwards, we ate at the Prado and visit a museum. Would highly recommend for a leisurely morning and a more cultural tour experience.”
