We’ll begin with an orientation in the park, and when everyone is comfortable we’ll head through the Birdrock neighborhood of La Jolla. The La Jolla Bike Path will take us north, with gorgeous views of the ocean as we roll along. The climb up Mt. Soledad will be the most fun you’ve ever had riding up a mountain, as the other cyclists and drivers watch in disbelief as we cruise up with little effort. At the top we’ll explore the memorial and take in the 360 degree views from San Diego’s highest coastal point. The exhilarating ride down the mountain will take us through little known and beautiful neighborhoods, perched on the mountainside. As we head back to the coast we’ll stop to check out the playful sea lions, dramatic sea caves, harbor seals, and tide pools. Follow your guide through La Jolla’s exclusive and luxurious neighborhoods to get the inside scoop. We’ll follow the coast down to WindanSea Beach, famous from early Beach Boys videos, where San Diego’s most elite surfers come to play.

Absolutely Fabulous Experience” 5 of 5 stars Loved it, . . . loved it, . . . loved it! You just couldn’t have a more enjoyable and just doggone fun outing! We toured the magnificent coastline of La Jolla, and viewed the marvelous views from Mt. Soledad, and awed at the luxurious homes along the way. Ike, our guide-extraordinaire provided a litany of really interesting information at each stop along the way – from the history of Wind /N Sea beach, and Contemporary Arts Museum that was the former home of city benefactor, Ellen Scripps, to a myriad of fascinating botanical information, and on and on. Ike was the magic ingredient in the recipe of this fabulous outing that made it a knock-out experience!

Soledad without breaking a sweat, then coasting down to the La Jolla coast and stopping to watch the seabirds, seals , and swimmers. Q: What is an electric bike?

A: An electric bike is simply a bicycle equipped with a small and quiet electric motor.
Electric bikes require no fossil fuels and therefore are extremely Quiet, Clean, and Green!
Instead of a gas motor, electric bikes use a battery to supply power to the motor.

Q: Who rides electric bikes?

A: In our experience there’s a huge variety of people who love riding electric bikes.
They are for everyone who feels comfortable riding a traditional bicycle, and our most frequent customers are:
• House boat or yacht owners
• RV travelers
• High school and college kids
• Those without a driver’s license
• Urban dwellers who don’t want to find and pay for parking
Some ways our happy customers use their electric bikes:
• Commuting to work
• Running errands close to home
• Joy riding
• Exercise

Q: How far will an electric bike go?

A: It depends on how much you’re using the power! This is affected by a lot of factors including rider weight, rider input, terrain, size of the motor, and number of amp hours in the battery. Most E-bikes have a range of 15- 25 miles, but some of our more powerful E-bikes can offer 30+ miles.
Now that’s Power & Freedom!

Q: Will I have to pedal?

A: Not all electric bikes utilize the same technology, but most employ the two types of motor assist.
• Pedal Assist: Pedal Assist Mode is a great option for those looking to treat their electric bike as a traditional bike with a little help from the motor. In this mode the motor will only kick in when the rider is pedaling. Some of our E-bikes we carry will allow the rider to select different levels of assist to allow for more or less help from the motor.
• Throttle & Go: If the bike comes equipped with this mode it is not necessary for the rider to pedal. Just twist and go! We love this mode when riding in town.
The more you pedal the further you can go on a charge.
It is also worth noting that our electric bikes have gears and are meant to be great for riding without the help of the motor, as there is no drag.

Q: Why would I want to ride an electric bike?

A: Most importantly because they’re fun! Whether you have an injury, a long commute, or you just want to save your energy for the rest of your day, an electric bike is a great way to get where you’re going without getting sweaty.
If you just feel a need for speed, you’ll be amazed at how far and how fast you can travel with a motor on board!

Q: Is there an age limit?

A: Yes, In the state of California, riders must be 16 or older.

Q: Is there a weight limit?

A: Yes, riders must not exceed to 240 lbs. if using our electric beach cruisers and 260 lbs. if using our Stromer E-bikes.

At San Diego Fly Rides know that you haven’t seen San Diego until you have laid eyes on the beauty of the city’s largest park. Balboa park is truly a treasure and our Spanish Twist Tour will allow you to submerse yourself into San Diego’s colorful past. We’ll start out with an orientation and fitting at our downtown office. The ride up the hill to Balboa Park will be a breeze with our hybrid electric bikes! Following the quiet bike paths on the southwest side of the park, we’ll get great views of the city and a chance to open up the throttles. As we pass the magnificent prehistoric-looking Moreton Bay fig trees we’ll stop for photos and learn about the Mother of Balboa Park. Riding over the Cabrillo Bridge is a grand entrance into the heart of the park, and the site of the 1913-1915 Panama-California World’s Fair. We’ll meander through, taking you to the best photo ops and little known gardens. In Balboa Park it is forever springtime, with different flowers blooming all year long, and our bike tour will show you the best of it.

Awesome time” 5 of 5 stars Everything about the experience at Fly Rides was great. Ike and Megan are super personable and were happy to describe each tour to us before we scheduled the one we wanted. Ended up doing Balboa park and had a great time. Megan was an amazing guide – taught us so much about the park and showed us a ton. She was also very patient in the beginning when some of our group realized they forgot how to ride a bike! A ll was good after a few minutes riding – the bikes are awesome btw. Fantastic time! Highly recommend.

Easiest way to get around Balboa Park” 5 of 5 stars My wife and I visited San Diego over the Rev Dr Martin Luther King Jr Day long weekend. We were the only ones on the tour. Ike was really friendly to the both of us. We took some time to get used to the electric bikes (it was both our first times). After that, we were off on the short ride to Balboa Park. The park is so massive and has so much in it that it’d be very tough to do without a bike tour and the electric part sure helps with those hills. Ike knew a lot, waited while we looked around the Botanical Gardens and was generally just a fun guy.

San Diego Fly Rides – SO fun!” 5 of 5 stars My father and I recently had the pleasure of experiencing San Diego Fly Rides. We were welcomed by Megan and Ike at their downtown location, promptly outfitted in helmets and warm jackets, and saddled up for our ride. Only a brief explanation was needed and we were effortlessly scooting down the sidewalk in no time. The electric bikes were remarkably easy to use and instantly enjoyable! Megan guided us on a lovely tour through Balboa Park offering tidbits of local history and keeping the pack entertained. I would definitely recommend San Diego Fly Rides!
